Like many games that were set to release this year, Ghostwire: Tokyo – the latest from The Evil Within developer Tango Gamesworks, has been delayed to early 2022. The studio made the announcement via a post on the game’s official Twitter account.
“We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we’ve been hard at work building,” the developer said. “At the same time, we’re also focused on protecting the health of everyone at Tango. Our new release window will give us time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we’ve always envisioned it.”
Ghostwire: Tokyo was announced in 2019 during Bethesda’s E3 press event where it was introduced with a creepy trailer full of ghosts and monsters from conspiracy theories and urban legends. The game itself will be a first-person adventure game where players will be able to wield spectral abilities as they face down this occult threat.
Like Arkane Studios’ Deathloop, Ghostwire is currently a timed Playstation 5 exclusive that will also be coming to PC. It is currently unconfirmed if the game will also be coming to Xbox, however, it may be likely as Tango Gameworks parent company Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft.
