2019 was Nintendo’s year to shine, the Switch was the company’s main focus which also gathered a lot of third party support including a supportive wave of Indie games. Now like with the other main categories, we do tend to specialize exclusives first and this year was no different with a new Luigi’s Mansion, Pokemon and an Indie cross-over with one of Nintendo’s biggest IPs, we’ve also seen an amazing remake of one of the best Legend of Zelda games, and Nintendo dipping into the Free-to-Play Battle Royale genre with a unique addition. Here is our Picks for Best Nintendo Game:
Cadence of Hyrule
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Pokemon Sw/Sh
Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
Tetris 99
AND THE WINNER IS:
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: LINK’S AWAKENING (Nintendo)
Link’s Awakening is one of the best Zelda games of all time, a big statement coming from a franchise that could fill most of the slots of the top 50 games of all time lists, but the Link’s Awakening remake also proves that by delivering on a great graphical, as well as some well-needed quality of life, updates. The game now plays smoother, and thankfully with better controls, that reminds you why the top-down Zelda’s were so amazing to begin with.
