A lot of familiar names showed up in 2019 to give a beat down. With NetherRealm Studios giving what almost feels like the final chapter in their long-running Mortal Kombat series, and Dead or Alive 6 adapting new mechanics to keep things fresh. We also saw the return of the classic SNK series, Samurai Shodown, while one of our favourite anime came out swinging in its first game. Here are our picks for the best Fighter of 2019.
Dead or Alive 6
Mortal Kombat 11
Samurai Shodown
My Hero Academia: One’s Justice
BlazBlue Cross-Tag Battle v2
AND THE WINNER IS:
MORTAL KOMBAT 11
NetherRealm Studios keep improving with each game that they release and Mortal Kombat 11 is no different. Mortal Kombat 11 outdone itself by featuring more of the things that we love about the series including more fatalities, smoother controls and a story that feels almost fit to end the series on a high note, and while we doubt that will happen, it’ll be interesting to see where the series can go from here.
