This genre was the bread and butter of 2019, which started the year strong with games like Sekrio: Shadows Die Twice and Capcom’s return to the Devil May Cry series. Then ended strong with Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Wayforward’s extremely entertaining take on River City Ransom with River City Girls. This one took some infighting among our crew, but we all seemed to agree after the bruises stopped swelling. Here are the picks for Best Action/Adventure Game.
The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince
Devil May Cry 5
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
River City Girls
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
AND THE WINNER IS:
The Smokin’ Sexy Style of the combat in Devil May Cry 5 is the most satisfying the series has been. I’d like to say this is thanks to the new engine that Capcom has been using for titles like Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 Remake, which has helped deliver some smooth animation with some great graphics, but a lot of the credit has to go with how unique Nero, Dante and V’s playstyle are and generally, how fun it is to kick some demon ass with them.
