2016 was fairly kind to Nintendo, despite some hiccups (Metroid Prime: Federation Force for example) Nintendo continued their dominance of the handheld market and started even expanding to mobile with titles like Pokemon Go and Super Mario Bros Run, and now with the Nintendo Switch on its way in March, we’re expecting to hear great things from Nintendo in 2017. Here is what we thought were the best the Wii U and the 3DS had to offer.
AND THE NOMINEES ARE….
RIVER CITY: TOKYO RUMBLE (Natsume)
TOKYO MIRAGE SESSION #FE (Atlus)
MONSTER HUNTER GENERATIONS (Capcom)
POKEMON SUN AND MOON (GameFreak)
KIRBY PLANET ROBOBOT (Hal Laboratories)
AND THE WINNER IS…
POKEMON SUN AND MOON
Pokemon was a landslide victory when we talked about the best game on the 3DS, with a new region with new Pokemon and new variants of classic Pokemon that range from super cute to questionable. Pokemon has been getting better with age and Sun and Moon is the perfect example of this, if you haven’t picked up a Pokemon game in a long while, this is the title to jump back into the series.
