Indie games are something that is really hard to judge. While there are some great indie titles that justifiably get their rise to fame, other golden gems who rightfully deserve their spot on the list, even as a nominee, may never get seen due to the mass amount of games that get pushed out. Here are the Indie titles that we were thankful to play this year that we thought deserved some recognition.
AND THE NOMINEES ARE:
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT (Behaviour Interactive/Starbreeze)
STARDEW VALLEY (Eric Barone)
TAHIRA: ECHOS OF THE ASTRAL EMPIRE (Whale HammerGames)
DANGEROUS GOLF (Three Fields Entertainment)
HYPER LIGHT DRIFTER (Heart Machine)
AND THE WINNER IS…
STARDEW VALLEY
Stardew Valley is the very definition of Indie, developed by a one person team (can you call it a team if there is only one person?) who along with wanting to improve his developer skills, wanted to make a fan-alternative to the Harvest Moon series. Since it’s release Stardew Valley has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, have received several game-changing updates and has continued to become a better game even after its release.
