The stigma of videos games based off of movies will always suck is slowly lifting and these games are the proof of this. While they can be based off of a movie franchise like Mad Max, a comic series like Batman or even a spin-off of another game series done in a completely different style, as long as they expand the world and deliver a great story and gameplay based on the franchises we love, then they deserve to be listed on here.
AND THE NOMINEES ARE:
MAD MAX (AVALANCHE STUDIOS/WB GAMES)
TRANSFORMERS DEVASTATION (PLATINUM GAMES/ACTIVISION)
TELLTALE GAMES: TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS (GEARBOX SOFTWARE/2K/TELLTALE GAMES)
BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT (ROCKSTEADY/WB Games)
TELLTALE GAMES: GAME OF THRONES (HBO/TELLTALEGAMES)
AND THE WINNER IS:
TELLTALE GAMES: TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS (GEARBOX SOFTWARE/2K/TELLTALE GAMES)
Telltale games has a perfect formula that allows them to tell any story as an action packed point and click adventure, even if the story is based on the gun heavy FPS series Borderlands.
It’s unique to the list because honestly we didn’t know how well the format was going to work with the series, only to be pleasantly surprised that the Borderlands humour, violence and general craziness worked perfectly as a Point and Click adventure game. This is Telltale at their best.
