The Action Adventure section this year had a similar theme to it, Assassins, with 3 of our top 6 Action Adventure games involved stealthily dispatching enemies either with Tomahawks, blades and magic or pistols. Of course we were also impressed with the Hong Kong cinema style that Square Enix’s Sleeping Dogs brought to the table and the amazing play mechanics of Gravity Rush for the PSVita, one of the few games that actually made us want to buy one on launch day.
AND THE WINNER IS….
DARKSIDERS 2
The problem with the other games nominated was that there was no sense of Adventure, Darksiders 2 has this in spades. Improving on the combat system of Darksiders 1, Death is a much more deadlier and agile character than War, which helps against the new enemies and original locations that gives us a much more bigger story about the riders and their role before and after the apocalypse.
With all the recent trouble with THQ filing for Bankruptcy, we hope to return to the world of the Darksiders soon.
