As we start announcing our winners for Game of the Year, we decided that we needed to put the hardest to choose on the list first. We had a difficult time deciding if orchestrated sounds of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain or Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, or if the new dance variations of Persona 4: Dancing All Night indeed make us dance to the beat. Other tunes just set the tone of a crazy adventure or pumped us up for a frustrating good time.
AND THE NOMINEES ARE:
HOTLINE MIAMI 2: WRONG NUMBER (DENNATON GAMES)
WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT (CD PROJEKT RED)
METAL GEAR SOLID V (KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS)
TALES FROM THE BORDERLANDS (2K/GEARBOX SOFTWARE/TELLTALE)
PERSONA 4: DANCING ALL NIGHT (ATLUS)
AND THE WINNER IS:
HOTLINE MIAMI 2: WRONG NUMBERĀ (DENNATON GAMES)
While every game on this list deserves credit for their fine music that set the tone and mood for their game, Hotline Miami 2 carries on the tradition of great techno that gets you pumped to take down everything in your way. It’s one of the few games that we can listen to the entire CD, or even on a frustratingly hard level, over and over again.
