One of the things that EA DICE’s first attempt at Star Wars Battlefront was heavily criticised for was the lack of a single player campaign to go along with it’s gorgeous graphics and fun multiplayer. While EA DICE did confirm for the sequel that we’d get to see a story campaign in the next outing, they remained silent on any details of what we might see in the upcoming Battlefront 2.
That is until late last night when the game’s first teaser was leaked to the net. The teaser, which features the Sony branding to make it feel official, show cased a female Tie-Fighter pilot on Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi with a voice over saying: “I still remember my last orders, the day the real war began. ‘Avenge our Emperor!’”
The story-mode showed what appeared to be story battles of what is believed to be between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, focusing on an “unknown soldier story”. However, the teaser also showed images of Episode 1/Clone Wars/Rebels Darth Maul and Yoda battling each other, suggesting that the game will have content from the prequels, originals and The Force Awakens (as both Rey and Kylo Ren also make an appearance.)
While a lot of this information remains speculation, we’re expecting to hear more about Star Wars Battlefront 2 at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando Florida this weekend, expect to hear more about that title then.
Hopefully we’ll also hear more about The Last Jedi and various other EA Star Wars Projects.
