Two games that are all about brotherhood are finally crossing over! Final Fantasy XV next free event will take place on August 31st 2017 and will turn Noctis and crew into Assassins – complete with the parkour moves, hidden blades and whitehood from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series.
The free event is titled Assassin’s Festival, and it will deck out Lestallum with Assassin’s Creed style, including mini-games, costumes and an Assassin’s Creed inspire mission to take out a target. For those who picked up the Dream Egg in the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will be gifted with an outfit for Noctis.
According to Ubisoft in a blog post, this cross-over event originated nearly three years ago “at an informal meeting during the Tokyo Game Show to express admiration for each other’s work.”
“This collaboration is the result of being huge fans,” said Ashraf Ismail, director of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Origins. “There’s a lot of respect between the two teams and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to pay homage to each other’s work.”
While the idea is a bit strange on paper, in action (see video above) it looks fantastic. We’re not sure how Ubisoft will repay the cross-over at this time – maybe an unlockable Cindy costume in Assassin’s Creed Origins?
