The long rumoured PS4 HD remake of 2007’s Final Fantasy XII was revealed today as Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. The game will be released as a PS4 exclusive and will feature a new Job Class system that was never before released in the West.
The new Zodiac job system originally was introduced in a Japanese re-release of the game called Final Fantasy International Zodiac System, which a 12-job character progression system which drastically changed the game play from the original release in regards to casting magic, skills and equipment.
Zodiac Age also includes several features including improved graphics and audio (with the ability to switch from the game’s original soundtrack or the upgraded one), New trial mode where players can take on monsters and enemies in up to 100 successive battles, Trophy support, Share Functionality, auto-saves and shorten load times.
Players can expect to return to Ivalice sometime next year. In the meantime, fans of the series will be able to satisfy the Final Fantasy itch with Final Fantasy XV this September.
