Quakecon was this weekend and with it was a bunch of news about Bethesda’s upcoming RPG, Fallout 4. Here are just a few things Fallout related that was mentioned at the event.
First of all, Bethesda’s runaway mobile hit Fallout Shelter finally has a release date for Android. The Overseer simulator will debut on the mobile OS on August 13th, and will bring along some upgrades (that will also be available on the iOS) which includes Deathclaws, Molerats and Mr. Handy.
Next is the release of the Fallout Anthology, a collection of currently released Fallout games including Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3 Game of the Year, Fallout New Vegas Ulitmate and Fallout Tactics. The collection is PC exclusive, available on September 29th at $49.99, and comes in a nice miniature Nuke.
Finally some actual Fallout 4 news, specifically on one of the more interesting feature in the game (as well as the feature we’re most excited about,) your robotic companion Codsworth will have a good chance of saying your character name.
“[Codsworth] does say your name, if you guys remember that,” game director Todd Howard explained during the game’s behind-closed-doors QuakeCon presentation. “So we had Stephen record, like, a thousand of the most popular names, as well as other things that we find people like to name their characters. Here’s a sample of some of those names.”
Because Bethesda knows their fanbase, here are just a few of the names that some outlets have announced.
- Ms. Angela
- Mr. Matthew
- Mr. McFly
- Ms. Katniss
- Mr. Boobies
- Mr. F*ckface
My dream of having a robot call me Mr. Boner while saving the world is one step away.
