The Android and iOS Vault simulator game, Fallout Shelter, will be given a major update with version 1.4. Vault-Tec… er… Bethesda, announced that the game will now include several new features to keep the game fresh while we wait for the upcoming Fallout 4 DLC.
One of the major new features is a new crafting mechanic, much like in Fallout 4 players will be able to take junk items, weapons and armour to craft even stronger items, which includes new items that were introduced in Fallout 4. New rooms have also been added to incorporate the crafting ability, as well as a Barbershop, which will allow you to fully customize your Vault Dwellers.
Also new to the update are more companion animals including parrots, a fifth card in the Lunchboxes to add Junk items for crafting, and a real-time day-night cycle.
Fallout Shelter was released for iOS on July 14th during Bethesda’s E3 presentation, it quickly became the third-highest-grossing game on the App Store in its first week, beating out Candy Crush Saga. Since launching on Android in late 2015, the game had topped the Best of 2015 Awards from both Apple and Google and has won multiple Mobile Game of the Year Awards, including D.I.C.E. and Golden Joystick.
According to Bethesda, the 1.4 update will hit Fallout Shelter sometime this week for free.
