The minute you look at “Everybody’s gone to the Rapture” you see a very different look at the end of the world, throwing you in a bright, empty world. Developed by The Chinese Room, the team behind indie hit Dear Ester, using the Cryengine which definitely helps to bring the environments to life.
Everybody’s gone to he Rapture is set to launch on Aug 11th as part of the Playstation Summer Play event.
Despite the name, I don’t get a sense of Rapture in the biblical sense from this trailer.
It’s a possibility, the trailer did give it more of a science project gone wrong. There are a lot of similarities to the biblical Rapture in this where people are just simply disappearing, but I’m sure there will be some twist when the game comes out.
True enough. Biblical Rapture would take all saved Christians instantly, leaving everyone else behind. I get the sense that it’s either science-fiction or other supernaturally inspired story. Likely though the name was chosen because of its nature, hoping to at least lure people in thinking it’s one thing and doing something unrelated. I’ll reserve judgement until I know more though, after all even Bioshock Infinite got my attention.
