Epic announced earlier today that it’s upcoming MOBA shooter, Paragon, will be Free to Play when it launches on PS4 and PC later this year, however unlike it’s competition, Epic has stated that all the game’s playable heroes and gameplay items will be completely free!
“Paragon is designed so that all players can compete and win without ever having to spend money,” said Paragon creative director Steve Superville. “We’re taking this approach because we believe that competitive games need to be fair for all players.”
The game’s Beta will be opening up later this summer, however those who purchase the Founder’s Pack (priced at $19.99 USD) will allow players to gain Early Access to the game. “Paragon is still in development,” Superville said. “The game is missing features, and some of the content is placeholder. We don’t yet have a lot of features to make it easier to understand for new players, and some systems (for example: cards and deck building) require a lot of patience.”
The Founder Pack will be available on March 14 and comes with a set of “skins, boosts, and other cosmetic items.” There will also be a Challenger and Master Packs selling for $59.99 and $99.99 respectively and will include more bonus items and boosts, as well as an additional Founder’s Pack for a friend.
