This wasn’t a surprise, but it is still good that we have full confirmation from Bethesda that their hit Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Bethesda Game Works executive producer Todd Howard appeared during Nintendo’s Livestream via a short trailer to confirm the release.
Despite the game being shown during the original announcement trailer for the Switch, Bethesda would not officially confirm the title until last night. Howard said he was excited not only to see the game on a Portable title but as well as the possible partnership between Bethesda and Nintendo.
“What’s really exciting for us at Bethesda is to finally work with Nintendo,” Howard said. “The switch is both classically Nintendo and something new, and we are honored to be a part of it.”
There is no official launch date for the Switch version of Skyrim outside a Fall 2017 window. The Switch is currently set to release on March 3rd 2017 for $299USD ($399CAD).
