When Disney Infinity was first released, it had been a wild speculation after Disney purchased Marvel and LucasFilm/LucasArts, that we would see Marvel and Star Wars characters join the digital toybox. Disney Infinity 2.0 pretty much solidified that theory by releasing the first set of Marvel heroes to the game. Now a week after it was leaked by a German retailer, Disney has officially announced that Disney Infinity 3.0 is on it’s way with a set of Star Wars figures to go along with it.
There will be 3 pack-in playsets released for the game, including the prequel trilogy set called “Twilight of the Republic” which features Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Darth Maul. The original trilogy pack is titled “Rise of the Empire” and will feature classic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Darth Vader and locations like Tatooine, Hoth, and Endor. Finally a new trilogy pack, “The Force Awakens” set will be out this winter, possibly around the time of the film’s release.
Other confirmed figures include items from Avengers: Age of Ultron, including Iron man’s Hulkbuster armour, Ultron and others. Disney also confirmed sets for the upcoming Disney/Pixar “Inside Out,” we can also expect to see “Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan and Olaf” and more.
Disney Infinity 3.0 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall, and is priced at 64.99 for the starter kit.
