The once exclusive Sega Genesis game based on Disney’s cult hit Gargoyles is getting a new coat of paint and coming to modern consoles and PC.
Released in 1995 and developed by Disney Interactive, Gargoyles was a 2D, side-scrolling action platformer in which players took the role of Goliath as he attempts to destroy a magical talisman called the Eye of Odin. The game loosely followed the plot of the show with levels from both the past and present/1995 New York.
The Remastered version was shown off with a stylish new trailer narrated by Goliath voice actor Keith David, and showed off some new features such as the ability to instantly switch between the game’s original 16-bit graphics, or a new style closer to the animated series, as well as a rewind feature, remastered soundtrack and new trophy/achievement support.
Gargoyles Remastered is set to release on October 19th, 2023 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and GOG.
