Destiny is arguably the biggest game of the year, and while we’ve enjoyed our time with the alpha and beta builds of the game, it will be interesting to see how the game is going to live up to the expectations and the hype it has built. The game is set to be released this Tuesday, September 9th, and will be available for Xbox One, PC, PS4, and last-gen PS3 and Xbox 360.
Obviously, players enjoying the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 may feel jealous of those on the current-gen, but if you’re buying the game digitally you’ll have no problems when you want to upgrade as Activision and Bungie are offering a free update of the game for PS4 and Xbox One. So what’s the catch? First of which is that the offer does not apply to Physical copies of the game, second the upgrade will only carry over to the same family in the console (PS3 to PS4, Xbox 360 to Xbox One.) Save data and DLC/Season Pass will be carried over to next-gen as well as long as it is in the same console family.
A new live action trailer got dropped in the UK to show off a bit more of the game’s awesomeness, borrowing cues from the Summer Hit Guardians of the Galaxy.
