Eidos Montreal announced today that their next big title, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, will be delayed until August 23rd 2016. Originally set to launch on February 23rd, Eidos-Montreal’s head of studio David Anfossi advised in an update on the game’s official site suggesting that the game needs a little more fine tuning.
“As we are now playing through the game in full,” Anfossi wrote, “we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards.”
This delay is especially interesting after Square-Enix’s “Augment your Pre-Order” campaign suggested that if there was enough pre-orders that the game could be released early. The campaign was cancelled however after a backlash of negative comments towards the incentive.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is also second title that was originally supposed to launch on Feb 23rd that has seen a delay. February 23rd would have saw the release of Mankind Divided, Far Cry Primal, and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, which also was delayed. Currently, Far Cry Primal is the only game set for the release date.
