Trion Worlds has announced that the upcoming Closed Beta for the revival of their Sci-fi shooter based on the ill-fated SyFy series Defiance, Defiance 2050, will be happing later this month on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Closed Beta will run the weekend of April 20th-22nd, players will be limited to reach level 25 and to explore the areas of Mount Tam and Madera, as well as some story-based missions and large-scale battles.
“Getting players into the game as soon as possible is hugely important for us,” said Matt Pettit, producer of Defiance 2050. “We are creating Defiance 2050 with player feedback in mind, so this beta test is going to be essential for getting information from Defiance fans on where they would like to see us improve and where they’d like to us take the game.”
Defiance 2050 is recreating the original game from the ground up and is more than a graphical remaster as Trion Worlds will be updating the original game’s systems, which has been streamlined and modernized. According to the developers, the Environments will be bigger, enemies will be more ruthless and weaponry more adaptable to the players style.
Those looking to get into the Beta will need to sign up for it at www.defiance2050.com. It’s important to note that the PS4 version of the Beta will be limited to North America for this event.
