February 22nd 2019 is a pretty pack solid date, with the highly anticipated Anthem, Crackdown 3, and Metro Exodus all releasing on that date. Another highly anticipated title from Sony World Wide Studios – Days Gone – was going to launch on the same date but thankfully will see a different release date.
“We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019.” Wrote Asad Qizilbash, Vice President of Marketing with SIEA. “While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.”
Days Gone was first shown at E3 2016 and is being developed by Bend Studio, the team behind the Syphon Filter series. The game is an open-world action title where players take control of a bounty hunter in the mist of a Zombie-like apocalypse, complete with fast hordes of “Freakers”, cunning and crazed humans, as well as various wild life.
This is a good sign from Sony and Bend Studio as it removes the game from a crowded release date filled with known IPs and a very highly anticipated release from Bioware, plus gives the team more time to show off the game and get the hype train rolling.
