God of War and Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe confirmed via Twitter that the upcoming Arena shooter “Drawn to Death” will be Free-to-Play when it launches sometime this year on PS4.
Jaffe was sure to tackle concerns about the Free-to-Play module, who mentioned that the team behind it are looking to take what they like about the F2P system while getting rid of the lack of balance and pay2win strategy that plagues plenty of Free to play games.

In a Reddit post about the F2P system, Jaffe expanded his statement saying “We don’t like pay to win and we don’t like taking play mechanics away from Players simply to have them earn them or pay for them.”
“We also love the idea of running a service based title, constantly staying engaged with the fans of the game and adjusting aspects of the game on the fly to allow the game to hit the game’s sweet spot.”
While it’s a statement that we’ve heard before, I believe if there is anybody who may be able to show how free to play games are supposed to be done, it’s David Jaffe and his team. Drawn to Death looks amazing so far and can definitely benefit from the platform.
