If I have to be honest, I have a hard time focusing with Visual Novels, there is some exceptions to this though and that has been two series of games from Spike Chunsoft, specifically The Zero Escape and Danganronpa series. Both are engaging mysteries that have been so crazy that I find it hard to put down, however Danganronpa has taken the cake with its interesting characters, strange story, and fun mock trials in which you prove your innocence.
If you missed out on this excellent series due to it being exclusively released on the PS Vita, you’re in luck. Spike Chunsoft announced that they will be releasing the first game in the series, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, for PC via Steam sometime in February. The second game in the series has also been announced to release at a later time.
Spike Chunsoft has also stated that the release of the two games is “only the start.” While no further title announcements has been made, it appears that the company will be embracing the PC crowd with future library releases. Hopefully we’ll get to also see “Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors” and its sequel, “Virtue’s Last Reward” in the near future.
