Are we ready to make another trip to Night City and enter the world of Cyberpunk? With Studio Trigger leading the way with their new Animated series that looks bats**t crazy – we definitely are.
Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red have confirmed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will available on Netflix on September 13th, and will consist of 10 episodes. The limited series will focus on David Martinez, a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future as he attempts to take control of his life by becoming an Edgerunner.
For those who are familiar with Studio Trigger’s work, the series will have a lot of familiar faces attached to it. Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) directing the show. Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) is the chief character designer as well as executive animation director. Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions ‘The Elder’) and Yoshiki Usa (GRIDMAN UNIVERSE series) wrote the screenplay based on the story provided by CD PROJEKT RED. The original score is composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series).
To announce the release date, Netflix released a very Not Safe for Work trailer which showcases the show’s patient for sex, violence, and all the cyber-enhanced carnage we expect from both Studio Trigger and the Cyberpunk IP.
