Crash Team Racing was at one time Playstation’s answer to Mario Kart, and when Activision announced the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy it was notably absent from the list. However during the Game Awards last night, Activision had confirmed that they’re keeping the remastering work on the classic franchises going with the remaster of the beloved racer.
The new remaster is now titled Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and is complete remake “from the ground up” of the original PS1 title. Developer Beenox is in charge of this HD upgrade, which will bring back Crash, his sister Coco and various other Crash characters with a new look. Modes from the original, like Adventure and Time Trials, will carry over to the remake. There is one major, and welcomed, change coming to CTR:NF as it will feature both offline and online multiplayer.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on June 21st, 2019 and will be priced at $39.99 USD.
