Yesterday, Activision announced that the latest iteration of the Crash Bandicoot series, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch on March 12 – with a free upgrade for those who purchased the game on PS4 and Xbox One. A PC version will also be available via Blizzard’s Battle.net store sometime in 2021.
The PS5 and Series X versions of Crash 4 will have a graphical upgrade running at native 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (with the Series S version rendering an upscaled 4K,) and will also boast faster loading times and 3D audio effects. For the PS5 owners, the game will also take advantage of the new DualSense Controller features. In a news release, Activision said “Fans will now be able to feel the force of Neo Cortex’s DNA-changing blaster and experience the grip as they grapple with Tawna’s Hookshot.”
Crash Bandicoot 4 will be priced at $59.99 USD for PS5 and Series X, while the PC and Switch version will be slightly cheaper at $39.99 USD. The game itself has received favorable reviews among fans of the series and critics alike.
