Skybound Games announced that they’ll be bringing a slew of Dungeon & Dragon’s RPGs that have been largely PC exclusive to consoles later this year with the assistance of developers Beamdog, who have been developing enhanced versions of the classic titles on PC between 2012 and 2018.
Many of the games on the list will be the first time being ported since their original release, the titles include the enhanced versions of Baldur’s Gate (1998), Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadows of Amn (2000), Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear (2016), Icewind Dale (2000), Neverwinter Nights (2002), and Planescape: torment (1999).
“These games are iconic, including Baldur’s Gate, which has really set the standard for Dungeons & Dragons computer roleplaying games,” Ian Howe, Skybound Games’ chief executive, said in a statement. “As longtime fans of Baldur’s Gate and Dungeons & Dragons, it’s fantastic to partner with Beamdog as the newest member of the Skybound family.”
The press release did not give a release date for the upcoming ports, however did express that the games will be able to be purchased online via the Skybound website and at retail. The games will be able to be seen at Pax East 2019 (March 28-31st) which will also mark the first anniversary of Skybound Games, the video games publishing division of Skybound Entertainment founded by The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman.
