Netflix’s animated adaptation of Castlevania is getting a sequel series releasing later this month under the name Castlevania: Nocturne, and will be moving away from Trevor and Sypha to another fan-favorite character, Richter Belmont.
Set more than 300 years after the events of the first series, Nocturne follows Richter Belmont — last living descendant of Trevor and Sypha Belmont — who is enlisted to fight against a group of French vampires conspiring to summon forth a “Vampire Messiah” and blot out the sun for good. The show’s latest trailer doesn’t spend too much time on getting you acquainted with the characters or story, but rather highlight Castlevania’s action sequences with plenty of magic, blood, whips, and fangs.
The first episode of Castlevania: Nocturne will premiere on September 27th on Twitch and Youtube ahead of the series premiere on Netflix on September 28th. You can check out the trailer for the upcoming series below.
