The Behemoth’s breakout 2D brawler, which originally launched on the Xbox 360 almost 11 years ago now, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and PS4 as Castle Crashers Remastered. This is a new re-release of the 4 player beat’em up and the same version that was released on Xbox One 4 years earlier.
In a blog post by the developers containing the official announcement, the remastered version will feature the “Back Off Barbarian” Mini-Game, all previous DLC, and various gameplay improvements and performance updates. The re-release will also run at 60 frames per second and feature improved textures over the original release.
For Switch owners, the game will be playable on a single Joy-Con controller and will utilize the HD Rumble Feature, as well as four-player local Joy-Con support. PS4 owners will also get a fun feature in terms of the controller’s light bar glowing the colour of their selected Castle Crasher.
Of course, the announcement of the remaster wasn’t the only thing to catch our eyes, as The Behemoth’s co-founder Dan Paladin confirmed in the post that the studio is working on a new game, currently under the codename “Game 5”. Paladin advised that the studio will “have more information on this later in the year hopefully.”
No release date or cost for Castle Crashers Remaster has been given at this time, however we do have a Summer Release Window.
