With the heat from game retailers such as HMV, Gamestop, and EBgames as well as fans of the Resident Evil series about the Permanent Save File, Capcom released this official statement
Capcom: “Ahem… We’re Sorry, Our Bad.”
Okay, it wasn’t completely like that, but Capcom USA VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development Christian Svensson, claims the permanent save file will never happen again. Christian Svensson also claimed that it was a conscious design choice to maintain the “Arcade Feel” of the game, not an attempt to destroy the trade-in market.
