Capcom’s beloved adventure title, Okami, is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on December 12th 2017. The announcement comes a day after the game had been seen on the Korean Ratings Board, which previously revealed the existence of the Mega Man Legacy Collection 2.
It shouldn’t come at a surprise that Capcom decided to bring Okami to PS4, Xbox One and PC though, as they have seen a large amount of success at re-releasing older titles and even expressed interest in releasing more HD remasters. Recently the company ported Resident Evil: Revelations to PS4 and Xbox One with a Switch version underway, still on the release schedule this year is Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen to PS4 and Xbox One next month, and the PS4 port of Dead Rising 4 (subbed: Frank’s Big Package) is also due for December.
Okami debuted in 2006 on PS2 and was met with universal acclaim by fans and critics for its beautiful visuals inspired by traditional Japanese sumi-e paintings and its Zelda style gameplay. Okami also saw a Wii version released in 2008, and an HD version in 2012 on PS3. The game only had one sequel, Okamiden, which launched on the DS in 2011.
The new release of Okami HD is stated to take advantage of the current generation’s higher resolutions, and will be compatible for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro which will feature the game running at with 4K graphics on the upgraded consoles and supported PC. This is one HD remaster which will likely look stunning
