While multiplayer has always been a selling point for the Call of Duty series, there are arguments that the series has some gripping single-player campaigns and this year’s Modern Warfare remake looks to meet that expectation thanks to the latest story trailer released during the Sony State of Play Livestream.
The trailer gets us reacquainted with Captain Price, a member of the British Special Air Service (SAS) and a Call of Duty fan favourite. Price and his team team up with the CIA and a female soldier named Farah Karim in the fictional Urzikstani Liberation Force in order to contain the spread of chemical weapons. The trailer is heavy on the cinematic action looking similar to something you’d see in a military action movie, and shows the terrorists doing some diabolical stuff including deploying chemical weapons on civilians.
Over the last two weeks we’ve been given the chance to try the game out via the Open-Beta and the game seems to be taking some good steps to improve itself from the last few titles in the series. You can check out the recap of our livestream below, or check out the story trailer above.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is set to release on October 25th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
