Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode is great for those who don’t usually enjoy the Battle Royale genre. It’s fast pace and more focus on action over the survival experience while still maintaining the last-man-standing – find your gear as you go, mentality of the genre.
However if you don’t want to shell out the full price for a multiplayer only Call of Duty title – which we don’t blame you – but want to see how Battle Royale works in the Call of Duty world, then Activision has the perfect promotion for you by unlocking a free trial of Blackout on PC, PS4 and Xbox One until April 30th.
The Blackout trial coincides with the introduction of an all-new map for Blackout based on Alcatraz, the famous prison island. Alcatraz is available on PS4 first as part of Activision’s deal with Sony, while PC and Xbox One are expected to see it at a later date.
While only Blackout mode is unlocked in the trial, all unlocked progress will be saved and transferred to the players if they would purchase the full game.
