In a surprise announcement during the “Nindies” Nintendo Direct yesterday, Nintendo released a trailer for Cadence of Hyrule, a new game from Crypt of the NecroDancer developers Brace Yourself Games set in the world of The Legend of Zelda.
The game is also a sequel of sorts and features the Crypt of the NecroDancer heroine Cadence as she is teleported into the land of Hyrule. Using the rhythm-based combat of the critically praised roguelike, she is joined forces with both Link and Zelda on a new adventure.
Cadence of Hyrule’s art style is reminiscent of more recent portable Zelda titles, and the trailer highlighted a remix inspired by the iconic Zelda music. The game is stated to have 25 remixed songs packed in the game, with the game’s overworld and dungeons being randomly generated.
There was no official release date for the upcoming indie collaboration game, however Cadence of Hyrule is set for a Spring release.
