We knew from E3 that Battlefield 5 would include a Battle Royale mode similar to Fortnite and PUBG, however we were given very little information on exactly what that would detail.
Thanks to a newly released video, we now know that the Battle Royale mode will be called Firestorm and it will throw 64 players into the series biggest map with 16 teams of 4 as they fight to be the last squad standing while a wild fire closes in on the map. DICE promises the highly destructible environments and vehicle-based combat that the series is known for, so there will be plenty of carnage to go around.
Aside from the Battle Royale mode, the new trailer also highlighted the new changes for the series, which includes the Tides of War, an event-based mode that will provide new content to all players. DICE is promising new content on a daily and weekly basis, and major events that will bring new maps and operations starting with “The Fall of Europe” set in France in 1940.
Battlefield 5 was recently delayed to November 20th for PS4, PC and Xbox One. The game is currently in Open Beta which will run from September 4th through September 11th.
