“It’s been ten years since the release of critically acclaimed real-time strategy game World in Conflict,” Ubisoft said, “[so] you’ll be able to download World in Conflict and its expansion (Soviet Assault) for free. … In honor of the tenth anniversary of the first Assassin’s Creed game, you’ll be able to get Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for free.”
Ubisoft also wanted to express that this is not a free trial, but will be permenately free for those who download the games during their respective windows – World in Conflict is running now until December 11th, while Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will run from December 12th through 18th.
While World in Conflict has not seen a new entry in 10 years, Assassin’s Creed had been going strong, with the latest title in the series – Assassin’s Creed: Origins – receiving high praise for redefining its combat mechanics as well as its story and settings.
