It’s sad that I don’t rave enough about League of Geeks’ Armello enough, a game that feels like a mix between Risk, D&D, Game of Thrones and Redwall novels. Luckily with news about the game coming to Xbox One later this fall, I get to do exactly that!
Armello, originally released on PC and PS4 last year, is a digital board game featuring anthropomorphized animals from 4 clans (The Wolf, Rat, Rabbit, and Bear) as they attempt to claim the throne for themselves from a King whose plagued by a curse called The Rot. As one of the members of the clans, players will clash with traps, Rot producing Banes, the King guards, and each other as they attempt to challenge the king in one of 4 ways to gain victory and rule the land.
When the game is released on Xbox One later this fall, it will come with 4 additional characters, now if you’re already playing the game on PS4 or PC, you’ll have these additional characters released at the same time.
One of the characters announced was Elyssia, a member of the Rabbit clan whose special ability improves the defences of her controlled towns, making it harder for opponents to get in. No word was given as of yet on the pricing of the Xbox One edition or if the additional characters will be paid DLC for PS4 and PC. Elyssia will be playable on the Xbox One this weekend at PAX East.
