League of Geeks’ digital board game Armello (which we nominated for Best Indie game of 2015) is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 27th 2018, and will be available in standard and complete editions.
Armello focuses on 4 clans attempting to usurp the throne from a King who has gone mad from a magical infection. Players will have to rely on strategy to win the throne through a number of different ways, while using trap, magic, and equipment cards.
While the standard edition will include the base game with the eight hero characters, the Complete edition will add 8 additional characters from the “Usurpers” and “Rivals” hero packs, plus two alternative board skins from the “Seasons” pack, additional hero skins, and premium dice packs. Both versions will include all the content and improvements since the game’s 2015 launch.
“For over three years now, Armello has taken the experience of playing board games with a table full of friends and brought that to life in a virtual space,” said Trent Kusters, co-founder and director, League of Geeks. “Not only does Armello play brilliantly on the Switch, whether docked or on the go, but players new and old will inherit years of content, updates, and improvements when Armello launches on Nintendo Switch.”
Armello will be priced at $19.99USD for the standard edition, while the collectors will be marked at $39.99USD.
