A new entry in Arc System Works heavy metal inspired fighting game, Guilty Gear, is in the works. Arc System Works dropped a trailer during EVO 2019 this weekend, which you can see above.
The teaser focused on the friendly rivalry of mainstays Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, both sporting new looks and showcasing some classic moves as Guilty Gear’s improved engine made it look more cinematic with different camera angles, stage transitions and more. We also got a look at the first new character to the new game, who is looking almost like final boss material.
Of course the teaser does its job by making us excited and asking questions about the new mysterious fighter, but unfortunately that is all we got at this time. Arc System Works did not specify a release date or platform and is currently calling the new entry “Guilty Gear 2020” which sparks some speculation along with the redesign of the characters that this may be a reboot of the series.
While we wait patiently for “Guilty Gear 2020”, you can play the most recent entry of the series with Guilty Gear Xrd Sign which released in 2014, or its expansions – Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator (2016) or Guilty Gear Rev 2 (2017)
