Fighting game fans should be familiar with Arc System Works, the makers of BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena. More importantly they should know the fast pace, hard rocking series Guilty Gear. If not, you should give it a try. Now that it’s out of the way, Arc System Works Announced at it’s 25th anniversary festival in Japan that they are working on a new title, Guilty Gear Xrd – SIGN-.
The 2D fighter will be a bit different this time around, and is to be said that it will be running on the Unreal Engine and for the first time in the series, will not use sprites. Currently only 4 characters have been announced including series staple Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Millia Rage and Eddie/Zato-1.
Of Course this wasn’t the only big news to come from the festival as they also announced that their other big franchise will be receiving an animated makeover. BlazBlue Alter Memory will be set to air this summer in Japan, animated by teamKG and Hoods Entertainment (after doing some research on the company, looks like the only shows they’ve made involves some questionable content for young viewers.) The show will be directed by Seiji Mizushima (Full Metal Alchemist, Gundam 00), with screenplays by Deko Akao (Mysterious Girlfriend X) and Tatsuya Takahashi (Idolm@ster and High School of the Dead)
