When it comes to advertising your new game, most companies go with the basics, a press-release, a trailer, some new gameplay facts, maybe even a billboard or adspace on a website or magazine. Bioware however decided to corn would be the best way to advertise their recently announced Mech Shooter, Anthem.
Thanks to a partnership with Bioware and Edmonton Corn Maze, people can now wonder through a maze designed like one of the Mechs from Anthem. Yes this is very real, you can find it in Edmonton Alberta Canada, and yes, it is very ridiculous.
But at least Bioware realize the ridiculousness of it all. “In a world saturated with banners and billboards, getting the message out about our new game, Anthem, is more important than ever,” the video’s description states. “Rather than taking a conventional approach, we’ve chosen a field as our medium. What better way to celebrate the growth of a new game than through corn, which also grows?”
Bioware has stated that they “cannot confirm nor deny whether Anthem will feature corn in any shape or form,” so we won’t know what corn and Anthem have to do with each other until the game launches sometime in 2018.
