The SNES/PSOne era of the Megaman series, Megaman X, will be receiving two collections coming in July. The first collection includes the SNES Megaman X, X2, X3, and the PSOne’s X4, while the second collection will include the PSOne X5, X6, and the PS2’s X7 and X8.
Both collections will be available digitally on PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Switch for $20 apiece or as a $40 bundle for console versions. The PS4 and Xbox One console bundles will have a disc for each collection, while the Switch version will have a cartridge for the first group and a download voucher for the 2nd collection.
Aside from some visual polishing and filters, the collections will also include the The Day of Σ, a video which was included with the PSP Remastered version of Megaman X titled Maverick Hunter X, which contains the story leading up to the events of the first game. There will also be a new “X Challenge” which puts you against two bosses.
The collection will also include a museum with the history of the Megaman X series including art, trailers, toys, trading card, keychains and a large variety of merch that has graced the series. The collection will be available on July 24th, and as awesome as it is to play the X series again, it’s a huge disappointment to know that the RPG spin-off X-Command will be missing from this collection.
