With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan’s release around the corner, we have to ask what will be the next property that from either Hasbro or Nickelodeon that Activision will pass on to the team at Platinum Games. Well if an Anonymous source from Activision is to be believed, they’re already hard at work on the next title.
According to the source, Platinum is currently working on an T-rated Action Brawler based on Hasbro’s My Little Pony property. The game will allow players to take control of the mane 6 characters and place them on a mission to save Equestria from a dark force that had been sealed away for centuries.
The source went on to explain that we should expect to see the same fast paced combat that we’re used to from Platinum with unique abilities to each playable pony including Pinkie Pie’s Party supplies, Twilight and Rarity’s Magic, Rainbow Dash’s speed and aerial strikes, Apple Jack’s Lasso and bucking skills and finally Fluttershy’s animal helpers. The game will have unique enemies made exclusively for the game, as well as some returning baddies from the show such as the Changelings, Discord, and Tirek.
Platinum Games has worked with Activision several times in the past, with the release of Legend of Korra and Transformers: Devastation, as well as the upcoming TMNT brawler set to release later this summer.
