For us, Skull and Bones was a bit of a low point for the Ubisoft E3 conference. While we all really enjoyed the navel sections of Assassin’s Creed 4, an entire game based on navel warfare with a heavy multiplayer focus left us weary of the title. However Ubisoft has promised that we’ve only seen the “Tip of the Iceburg”… probably not the best phrasing in regards to a boating game, but we’ll go with it.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Skull and Bones will have a Narrative Single-Player mode that won’t be an aside to the multiplayer mode. “In this campaign, players will encounter iconic characters and memorable rival pirates. More details will be shared at a later date,” a Ubisoft rep stated.
The E3 demo that was shown was only one of the PVP modes available for the game, which showed several players and their ships collide to attempt to escape with the most money, Ubisoft also teased the apperance of a certain sea-creature hinting that Ubisoft does have more in store for us then just navel combat. Of course we’ll have to wait to see what else they have planned, hopefully it does more to keep players engaged than the company’s last attempt, For Honor.
