The latest DLC for Titanfall 2 is now available for free on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC, and might be the best of the free DLC yet as it brings two great maps and a new co-operative game mode.
The Frontier Defense Mode is a four-player co-op horde mode that tasks players with defending their Harvester against increasingly difficult waves of enemies, rwarding players with mode-eclusive Aegis Ranks which can unlock more upgrades for players Titans. The mode currently supports only five maps, but Respawn sated that they will be adding more in future updates.
On the competitive side, the update also comes with two new maps. The first being “Rise”, like previous updates, this is also a remastered map from the original Titanfall featuring close-quarters that emphasizes long sight lines, making it a great map for a skilled sniper. The second map is “Township” which is for the Live Fire Mode and features a residential area with plenty of rooftop space and a lack of cover.
On top of the update we also have new Warpaints for Titans and Weapons that are purchasable.Aside from the cosmetic differences, warpaints will also give some bonuses this time around. For Titan Warpaints, players and their teammates will get a chance to earn bonus Aegis XP after completing Frontier Defense Matches. additional, players can buy elite weapon Warpaint which can grant merit boosts for the team as well as a 10% chance to earn a double XP token at the end of a match.
Both of these skin sets are available until August 28th and are available for purchase at $5 each or $25 as a bundle (Titan and Weapons are separate bundles.) You can learn more about the Warpaint and their bonuses at Respawn’s website.
Finally, Respawn has also made a bunch of fixes and refinements to the game in which you can read in full here.
