In an interview with IGN, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella confirmed that there will be a sequel to their hit FPS Titanfall, and unlike it’s predecessor, the game will also come to the PS4. “I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don’t know anything about it, or… yeah. So we’re working on a sequel,” said Zampella, in reference to a talk held by Blake Jorgensen, Electronic Arts’ chief financial officer.
While it isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumours of Titanfall 2 going to the PS4, as EA has stated before that the game would not remain a Microsoft Exclusive. The announcement of the sequel came shortly after the Titanfall season pass became free to everyone to celebrate the game’s one year anniversary, unlocking all of the additional content for the game.
While he didn’t provide much more details about Titanfall 2, Zampella did say that they plan to do something different when it comes to DLC, “I think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it’s messy.”
